Dr. Mary Jo Brandt 60, of Indianapolis, died January 31, 2005.  She was a graduate of St. Mary-of-the-Woods College.  She earned her M.D. from Indiana University School  of Medicine, where she was named Outstanding Medical Student.  After a residency at I.U. Med Center, she was a fellow in pulmonary medicine at Washington University, Barnes & Veterans Administration Hospitals in St. Louis, MO.  During her more than thirty-year career in medicine, she practiced internal medicine, was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Indiana University Medical Center, conducted research and was the first female physician in Industrial Medicine at Eli Lilly and company.  In 1987 she turned her focus to consultation related to medical negligence.  She founded and was President of Brandt & Associates Medical Litigation Support, Incorporated.  Mary Jo was born in Youngstown, Ohio.  Her paretns, Walter H. Brandt, Sr. and Jospehine S. Brandt preceded her in death.  Surviving are her siblings, Kathleen Holliday;  Walter H. Brandt, Jr. and his wife, Martha;  Patricia Brandt Snyder and her husband, Tom;  Peter K. Brandt, and Thomas I. Brandt, and his wife, Katie.  She was a loving aunt to Martina Holliday;  Patrick, Amy, Walter III and Sarah Brandt;  Katie and Abby Snyder;  and Joe, Gracie and Michael Brandt.  Private services will be held in Ohio.  Dr. Brandt asked that donations in her memory be made to the Josephine S. and Walter H.
